TCSF Neighborhood Rally Series at Stern Grove

Coach Sean brought us the workshops in 2025. This year, we’re bringing in a few guest coaches to give you some pointers and to organize some doubles at some of our fantastic neighborhood courts. Up first, we have Coach Clark at Stern Grove!

Event Description

Explore San Francisco’s public courts with the Tennis Coalition and join us for our Neighborhood Rally series! We are taking our love for the game across the city to celebrate and activate our public neighborhood courts.

Whether you are looking to find a new tennis buddy, sharpen your doubles strategy, or just enjoy a sunny afternoon outside, this event is for you.

🎾 What to Expect:

  • Coach Clark: He’s is a coach and former college tennis player for Pacific University, where he was ranked #50 in all of Division 3 tennis in singles in 2017. Since college, Clark has taught private and group lessons in San Francisco for students of all ages and abilities. This spring he will be an assistant JV coach for the Saint Ignatius men’s tennis team.
  • Warm-up: We’ll kick off with active drills and coaching tips led by a local teaching pro to get you moving.
  • Social Doubles: The main event! We will organize rotating doubles play. No partner needed—we’ll mix and match so everyone gets to play.
  • Community: Meet and connect with other SF tennis players.

📍 Location: [Stern Grove] Discover the sunken courts at Stern Grove, one of the most scenic and wind-protected spots in the city!

👤 Who Should Join? (Level: Intermediate / NTRP 2.5–3.5) This event is designed for social and recreational players.

  • Perfect for you if: You can rally consistently (4–6 shots), know how to keep score, and enjoy a friendly game.
  • Not for you if: You are a complete novice who has never held a racket or a highly advanced player looking for intense competitive drilling.

  • Cost: $15 (Proceeds support TCSF public advocacy programs)
  • What to bring: Your racket, water, and court shoes. Balls provided!
